Anki Setup
Follow these steps to get Anki ready for Kartenmeister cards.
Setup is desktop-only. Anki sync requires a desktop browser that can reach Anki running on the same computer. Open Kartenmeister on your computer to install templates and push cards. You can still browse and learn lessons on this device.
Install Anki
Download and install Anki, the free spaced repetition flashcard app.
Install add-ons
Kartenmeister needs two Anki add-ons. Open Anki, go to Tools → Add-ons → Get Add-ons..., and install each code below. Restart Anki after installing both.
Lets Kartenmeister push cards directly to Anki.

Adds text-to-speech pronunciation to your vocabulary cards so you can hear the German words spoken aloud.
Tip: by default Anki plays the audio automatically every time you flip a card. To switch to click-to-play instead, go to Tools → Preferences → Review and uncheck "Play audio automatically". The play button on the card still works either way.

Allow Kartenmeister to talk to your Anki
AnkiConnect only accepts requests from sites you explicitly trust. Add Kartenmeister to its allowlist so your browser can push cards.
- In Anki: Tools → Add-ons, select AnkiConnect, click Config.
- Find the
"webCorsOriginList"array and replace it with:
"webCorsOriginList": [
"http://localhost",
"https://kartenmeister.app",
"https://www.kartenmeister.app"
]
Click OK to save, then restart Anki. Safari users: AnkiConnect over HTTPS isn't supported by Safari's mixed-content rules — use Chrome or Firefox.
Connect and set up
Make sure Anki is open, then check the connection and install everything Kartenmeister needs — the note types (card templates) and decks.
